Description
Insteimed developed the detailed electrical engineering for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) SBBT unit for Panfido, one of the leading tugboat and barge operators in Europe. The unit combines an LNG-powered tugboat (propulsion and power generation) with a non-propelled bunkering pontoon with a capacity of 4,000 m³ of LNG and 1,000 m³ of MDO, for ship-to-ship supply operations. The unit operates in Italy and in the Adriatic.
Insteimed’s scope covered the full detailed electrical engineering package: preliminary electrical balance, general one-line diagram, preliminary switchboard circuit list, short-circuit calculations, automation and power management system, cable routing, normal and emergency lighting, hazardous area classification, fire and gas detection, emergency shutdown (ESD) system and voltage drop calculation. The work was carried out in Spain in 2019.
