Division Industry

Industrial process control and energy management, in process plant, food industry, logistics facilities and marinas.

Here what cannot stop is the process

  • Regulation

There is no classification society: the low-voltage electrical regulations and their technical instructions apply, with inspection by an approved control body and registration with the industry authority. Where there is an explosive atmosphere the ATEX framework is added, and that governs enclosures, cabling and installation method.

  • What it demands

A production line does not stop for electrical work. The job is done in a planned shutdown, with the window counted in hours, or with the installation live and the precautions that requires. The documentation has to be left up to date, because the next inspection depends on it.

  • Who we deal with

The contact is the maintenance manager or the plant engineering team: people who will live with the installation every day and who value a switchboard that can be diagnosed without the drawing in hand. The relationship tends to run for years rather than for one project.

Installation types

Installations where the process and the energy are controlled together.

  • Process plant

    Line automation and energy management

  • Food industry

    Washdown enclosures and hygiene requirements

  • Logistics facilities

    Automated warehouses and loading bays

  • Marinas

    Pontoon distribution and services control

  • Pumping stations

    Water supply and treatment

  • Substations

Low and high power with grid synchronisation

What we do in a plant

Each group links to the service page. What follows is what that service means when the client cannot halt production.

  • Engineering projects

    • Drawings and technical documentation in E-Plan
    • Process automation
    • Sizing of low and high power switchboards
  • Site management

    • Coordination between the client and the other contractors
    • Monitoring of installation condition
    • Registration and dealings with the approved control body
  • Electrical equipment manufacturing

    • Main and secondary low-voltage switchboards
    • Plant ventilation and extraction panels
    • Stainless steel enclosures
    • Switchboards for ATEX environments
  • Automation, control and monitoring

    • PLC programming and commissioning
    • SCADA systems
    • Bespoke control consoles
  • Assembly and connection

    • Installation and commissioning of pumping stations
    • DC systems and isolated neutral arrangements
    • Generator synchronisation with the grid
    • Installation of special cables
  • Maintenance and testing

    • Multi-year preventive maintenance programmes
    • Thermal imaging and insulation testing campaigns on site
  • Refit and repairs

    • Retrofit of obsolete switchboards and equipment
    • Fault repair with the plant running
